This unusual image, taken with the James Webb Space Telescope, shows no fewer than 17 concentric dust rings radiating from a binary star system. Known as Wolf-Rayet 140, this stellar duo resides more than 5,000 light years away from Earth. Each of these rings formed during close encounters between the two stars, where their powerful stellar winds collided, compressing gas and giving rise to dust.
