UK ATC is located at The Royal Observatory Edinburgh situated on Blackford Hill, to the south of the city. The Royal Observatory is sign-posted from the Cameron Toll roundabout, Mayfield Road and Blackford Avenue.
The nearest airport is Edinburgh which is approximatley 10 miles from UK ATC (35 minutes drive or 1 hour on public transport); Glasgow Airport is approximatly 65 miles (1 hour 45 minutes drive or 2 hours 30 minutes by public transport).
Public transport
Nearest train station is Edinburgh Waverly. Walking from Edinburgh Waverly to The Royal Observatory takes approximately 1 hour; cycling from Edinburgh Waverly takes approximately 20 minutes.
Lothian Regional Transport bus routes 9 and 38 stop at the bottom of Observatory Road. Other routes 3, 8, 24, 29, 31, 33, 37 and 37A all stop 15-20 minutes walk from UK ATC.
Please note all public transport routes include a steep 0.5 km walk up hill.
